ITD is hiring for a Project Manager 2 at the Headquarters location in Boise, Idaho. As an expert in project management, this position must be able to manage several Technology projects at the same time using Agile and PMBok principles, as appropriate. This includes the planning, development, procurement, implementation and evaluation of large, complex Technology projects. The role includes supervision and or direction of contractors and state employees and the management of vendor contracts when necessary. The skills required include the ability to direct large diverse project teams with a focus on product delivery. The successful applicant will oversee the creation of all project artifacts and ensure that all projects adhere to established PMO standards and procedures with the ultimate goal to deliver Technology projects on time, on budget and to customer’s satisfaction.
Responsibilities:
•Manage numerous complex statewide Technology Projects from concept to implementation;
•Develop all required project documentation such as: scope; charter; requirements; budget; workflows; fully resourced project schedules; communication plans; dashboards; test plans; training plans; etc.;
•Manage to scope, schedule, and budget;
•Adhere to Project Management Institute (PMI) principles and Agile Project delivery principles;
•Conduct executive level communications for project updates;
•Manage a wide variety of business resources, IT resources, vendor resources, and contractors;
•Work on cross-agency projects with other state agencies such as: ISP; Health and Welfare; Office of the CIO; State Controller’s Office; ACHD; etc.;
•Identify risks and implement mitigation plans;
•Craft and publish vendor bids when necessary;
•Capture current state and future state;
•Insure conformity to ITD standards and security requirements;
•Must have excellent business organizational skills and highly experienced at negotiating for project resources;
•Must have excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively respond to customers, sponsors, management, programmers, vendors and partners;
•Can conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines by applying strong analytical and problem-solving;
•Able to function independently with minimal direction/guidance;
•Gather system and functional requirements.
