Regional Planner/Construction Project Manager II-West coast-Home Based

The primary purpose for this position is to provide Site Planning support to Varian’s Sales force/Customers, and to coordinate construction services provided to customers under Varian’s Site Solutions programs.

Responsibilities:


 

Traveling to Customer sites for planning meetings with the Customer, their design/construction team, and/or Varian Sales.

Creating Site Specific Project Coordination Drawings and Shielding Recommendations for use in project planning utilizing AutoCAD or a similar design software.

Reviewing architectural and engineering drawings for compliance to Varian equipment.

Coordinating projects with Customers, their architects, contractors and Varian installation staff. Responding to Requests for Information (RFls) from the Customers design team for technical information.

Providing first-line management of small to moderate construction projects, including scope development, RFP & award process, construction oversight, and contract administration.

Being responsible for providing Planning & CM services across a geographically large planning region. B.S. degree,(or equivalent), in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Mgmt., or Project Mgmt. major preferred, and 2-5 years of experience in an architecture, construction, healthcare or facilities planning organization.

Experience with Medical Radiation Oncology equipment or related high technology equipment facilities design and equipment installation.

Experience and current proficiency using AutoCAD or similar design software is mandatory.

General knowledge of construction code and/or government radiation regulations is required. Experience in preparing and reviewing construction documents and in construction management projects is highly desired. Proficient in utilizing PC business tools such as: Outlook, Microsoft Project, SharePoint, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Strong communication, customer relations, & problem resolution skills – Good command of written & spoken English. Additional Spanish or French (Québécois) language skills are a plus.
